AYSO has transitioned BACK to registering players based on the school year,
RATHER THAN registering them based on their birth year.

This change was made to bring alignment with other youth soccer organizations and the U.S. Soccer Player Development Initiatives.

Starting from Fall of 2026, the age of players for registration purposes will be determined based on their age as of August 1st of that year.

Children who will turn four years old anytime between January 1 and December 31 are eligible to participate in AYSO Playground Soccer.

To assist in determining the appropriate age group and division for players, a chart is provided, and guidelines and rules from U.S. Soccer are followed.
